BRICS-T ülkelerinde liman altyapı kalitesi ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi: ampirik değerlendirmeler

Abstract

Ekonomik büyüme açısından liman altyapı kalitesinin sağlanması ve limanlarda gerçekleştirilen ekonomik faaliyetlerin sürdürülmesi için alt ve üstyapıya dönük gerekli önlemlerin alınması önem arz etmektedir. Bu makalede 2006-2019 arasındaki dönemde, BRICS-T ülkelerindeki liman altyapı kalitesi ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki, Dünya Bankası ve WEF veri tabanlarından elde edilen yıllık veriler kullanılarak, panel nedensellik testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analizde Parks-Kmenta tahmincisi ile katsayılar tahmin edilerek, Pairwise Panel Nedensellik Testi aracılığıyla da seriler arasındaki ilişkinin yönü ortaya konmuştur. Analizden elde edilen bulgulara göre; BRICS-T ülkelerinde liman altyapı kalitesinden ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmuş ve BRICS-T ülkelerinin liman altyapı kalitesindeki %1’lik bir artışın, ekonomik büyümeyi 0.20 birim arttırmakta olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Quality of port infrastructure and economic growth relationship in BRICS-T countries:empirical assessments

Abstract

In terms of economic growth, it is important to take the necessary measures to ensure the quality of port infrastructure and maintain it for future port economic activities. The findings of the study contribute to a better understanding of how port infrastructure affects economic growth in BRICS-T countries. In this article, the relationship between the quality of port infrastructure and economic growth in BRICS-T countries and the direction of this relationship have been analyzed by panel causality test using annual data for the period between 2006 and 2019 obtained from the World Bank and WEF databases. In the analysis, the coefficients were estimated using the Parks-Kmenta estimator and the direction of the relationship between the series was estimated using the Pairwise Panel Causality Test. Dec. According to the findings obtained from the analysis; a mutual causality relationship was found between the quality of port infrastructure and economic growth in BRICS-T countries, and it was concluded that a 1% increase in the quality of port infrastructure in BRICS-T countries increases economic growth by 0.20 units.
