Abstract

Investigation of Statistical Anxiety Levels of Academics Undergoing Postgraduate Education in Health Management

Year 2022, Issue: 45, 88 - 92, 31.12.2022

Abstract

In today's studies with empirical findings, statistical methods have become inevitable and gained great importance. However, due to its complex nature and technical requirements, students may have statistical concerns. At this point, there was a need to investigate the statistical anxiety levels of postgraduate lecturers in the field of health management, where data and analysis are frequently used. Within the scope of the research, the research was carried out with the data of 44 people who participated in the survey, which was sent online to the instructors working in universities in Turkey. It was determined that the statistical anxiety levels of the participants were 2.53 on average. No significant difference was found between the statistical anxiety levels regarding gender, postgraduate education level, and period of taking a statistics course. There was a difference only in terms of the age of the participants. It was determined that the anxiety levels of the participants aged 30 and over were lower. However, it was determined that the group with the lowest level of statistical anxiety among the groups was the group that made the statistics of the doctoral thesis (x=1.24).
