It is very important to test whether foreign direct investment(FDI) which are one of the basic characteristics of business cycle, are procyclical in the economy of Turkey, as this would provide an important evidence for business cycle theory. In this study searched that whether the FDI in Turkey are procyclical or not. For the 1998–2012 period, quareterly data that is obtained from the Central Bank of Turkey is used. According to the results of descriptivestatistics, correlation-coefficient, variance-seperation and Granger-casualitytest analyses, it is concluded that, in line with the assumptions of business cycle, FDI are weakly procyclical. FDI is cause of granger of GDP, affect GDP.
Konjonktür yönlü göstergelerinden olan doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları (DYSY) Türkiye ekonomisinde konjonktür yönlü olup olmadığının test edilmesi konjonktür kuramı için önemli bir ampirik kanıt teşkil etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye ekonomisine gelen doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının konjonktür yönlü olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada 1998–2012 dönemi için Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası veri tabanından derlenen çeyrek yıllık veriler kullanılmıştır. Yapılan betimsel istatistiklere, korelasyon katsayılarına, varyans ayrıştırması ve granger nedensellik testi analizleri neticesinde doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının konjonktür yönlü olduğu fakat ilişkinin zayıf olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları reel gayrisafi yurtiçi hasılanın Granger nedeni olduğu, reel gayrisafi yurtiçi hasılayı etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.
