EARTHQUAKES AND BUSINESS RECOVERY STRATEGIES: A SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH AGENDA

Öz

This study presents the results of a systematic review of the literature on business recovery strategies after earthquakes. Business recovery strategies represents an important research area that has generated a substantial body of knowledge due to devastating earthquakes occurred in the worldwide. Therefore, the authors employ a systematic literature review method to delve into the existing body of literature. A total of 66 articles on this subject published in the period between 1998-2023 were examined in the review. As the main contribution, this study integrates prior fragmented research on business recovery by categorizing studies based on common themes. Thus, the research draws a picture of the literature on business recovery strategies after earthquakes by outlining its characteristics. After identifying knowledge gaps in the literature, the authors offer future research avenues for scholars with high contribution potential.

DEPREM SONRASI İŞLETMELERİ KURTARMA STRATEJİLERİ: BİR SENTEZ VE ARAŞTIRMA GÜNDEMİ

Öz

Bu çalışma, depremlerden sonra iş kurtarma stratejileri üzerine yapılan sistematik bir literatür taramasının sonuçlarını sunmaktadır. İş kurtarma stratejileri, dünya çapında meydana gelen yıkıcı depremler nedeniyle önemli bir bilgi birikimi oluşturan önemli bir araştırma alanını temsil etmektedir. Bu nedenle yazarlar, mevcut literatürü incelemek için sistematik bir literatür taraması yöntemi kullanmışlardır. Taramada, 1998-2023 yılları arasında bu konuda yayınlanmış toplam 66 makale incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın temel katkısı, iş kurtarma konusunda daha önce yapılmış dağınık araştırmaları ortak temalara göre kategorize ederek bütünleştirmesidir. Böylece araştırma, deprem sonrası iş kurtarma stratejilerine ilişkin literatürün özelliklerini ana hatlarıyla ortaya koyarak bir resim çizmektedir. Yazarlar, literatürdeki bilgi boşluklarını tespit ettikten sonra, gelecekteki araştırmalar için yüksek katkı potansiyeline sahip yollarını önermektedir.
